The analysis of a contemporary art mediation cannot but try and study those who bear the responsibility of managing and promoting it. The uncertain contours of the field, its organisational complexity, the undefined social expectations force the mediators into making their choices (décisions) and elaborating their references on a day to day basis. The field of contemporary art owes a lot to curators.
