A review and study of groups on a European scale have allowed the Bell-Beaker phenomenon to be broken down into two material entities and a model to be proposed for its interpretation. The first entity, "the set", includes objects common to the whole of Europe, including the typical decorated beaker. This first component is the expression of new knowledge, of an ideology. The second component is represented by complementary (or ordinary) pottery and the lithic and bone implements associated with it on dwelling sites.
