The site of Roucadour (Thémines, Lot), first excavated in the 1920s, has been the subject of new excavations since 1995. A new large stratigraphy was discovered, especially for the Bronze Age and the Neolithic. This field-work was conducted to examine the local geomorphological evolution processes, obtain radiocarbon dates, acquire more paleoenvironmental information and interpret the functioning of the site. This paper compares the previous chronological and cultural evidence for the Roucadour settlement with the new studies.
