The main aim of this study is to assess comprehension effects of reading support programmes where children are trained to read aloud, to analyse speech sequences and manipulate graphic and phonetic codes. These lessons are taken in school context, by poor readers in the last primary grade. During a pre-test pupils are selected on the basis of two standardized test scores : one oral reading test and one silent reading comprehension test. It shows that their reading difficulties are relatea to decoding difficulties. At the end of the training programme, post tests reveal that children with reading support provision progress in reading aloud and also in silent reading comprehension.
