The computerization of administrative and managerial tasks and functions in the universities is seen as an answer to the constraints of growth in social demand and student numbers, and the reduction in public financing. In this article, the computerization process is used as an analyzer of the relationships between administrative staff, academics, and students, of their interactions, of their cooperation and conflicts in day-to-day operations. The study is based on the results of research in France, Germany and Italy. Three levels are examined: the distribution of tasks and responsibilities; the problems of interdependency and coordination; the service relationship.
