A critical examination of perforated and unperforated fossil urchins found in Western Central France other than in Paleolithic contexts. Finding conditions have taken into account the oldest known information. It is demonstrated that no urchin was found in sure Neolithic context and only one, unperforated, can be undoubtedly attributed to Bronze Age. The oldest perforated urchin was found in a certain Gallo-Roman context. Somme other urchins, perforated or not, have been collected in historical contexts. The hypothesis of a "mystical of the fossil urchin ", which would have appeared in Saintonge during the Neolithic times and lasting until Antiquity, seems to be very uncertain.L'auteur propose un examen critique des trouvailles d'oursins fo...
