La faune à Saïga Tatarica de Chinchon I (Saumanes, Vaucluse) [The Saïga Tatarica fauna from Chinchon J (Saumanes, Vaucluse)]

The Chinchon 1 cave, in Vaucluse (Saumanes), has yielded a fauna in association with Upper Paleolithic industry. Its revision permitted to indicate the association Saiga tatanca-Rangifer tarandus, which is unique in Provence, and the existence of Mammuthus pnrimigemus and Megaceros sp. which are two exceptional species in this area. The variation of the faunal assemblage along the stratigraphy reflects the climatic evolution which occures at the end of the Upper Pleistocene. This changement could be followed by the end of the recent Pleniglacial until the Alleröd.Une révision de la faune du site Paléolithique supérieur de Chinchon 1 (Saumanes, Vaucluse) a permis de mettre en évidence une association à Saïga tatarica et à Rangifer tarandus, unique pour la Provence, et de signaler la présence de deux autres espèces exceptionnelles : Mammuthus primigemus et Megaceros sp. La variation de la composition faunique en fonction de la stratigraphie reflète les changements climatiques de la fin du Pléistocène supérieur qui est ici représenté depuis le début du Pléniglaciaire récent jusqu'à l'Alleröd.Crégut-Bonnoure Evelyne, Paccard Maurice.
