ABSTRACT The contributions of quantitative methods and data processing to Archaeology are discussed here, not in terms of results from new applications, but in termes of influencing the evolution of methods and theory in Archaeology. It is particularly demonstrated that the contributions of modern technologies could be useful in Archaeology only if they can be integrated in a méthodologie and epistomologic frame to build, of which some illustrative elements are given here. On the success of this fundamental work, depends the future of Archaeology as a scientific discipline.RESUME Les apports des techniques quantitatives et de l'informatique en archéologie sont discutés ici, non pas en termes de résultats de nouvelles applications, mais en t...
