The West Termit endoreic basin is located in the arid part of Lake Chad Basin (Republic of Niger). In this setting, the accumulation of aeohan sands since the Lower Pleistocene highlights the many sedimentary signals of aridity, while masking the scarcer signals of humidity. However, it is the latter that have been studied most closely to date, because of their biological content. This paper defines local sedimentary markers of different types of environments. Multivanate analysis of these markers provides a qualitative evaluation of climatic change recorded by largely azoic deposits.
