Le Haut Forez (Massif Central, France) après le pléniglaciaire würmien : environnement et tephra du volcan de La Nugère

Sedimentology, palynology, tephrology, and datings have been applied to the filling of a basin of the High Forez. That allowed us to reconstruct some aspects of the evolution of the environment during and after the retreat of the Wiirmian glaciers. This paper focuses on the sedimentation and the development of vegetation. A trachyandesitic tephra layer occurs within the level of Altered age. The tephra are correlated with the eruption of the La Nugère volcano in the Chaîne des Puys/France.Des recherches pluridisciplinaires (sédimentologie, palynologie, téphrologie, datations ) réalisées dans une tourbière du Haut Forez ont permis de retracer et de dater plusieurs aspects de l'évolution du paysage régional pendant et après le retrait des glaciers würmiens. Une importance particulière est accordée à la sédimentation et à la recolonisation végétale. Une retombée volcanique enregistrée dans le niveau d'âge Allered est attribuée au volcan de la Nugère situé dans la Chaîne des Puys.Etlicher Bernard, Van Leeuwen Jacqueline F.N., Janssen Cornelis Roelof, Juvigné Etienne.
