La « découverte » d'une nouvelle population de vipères en France

In 1992, unusual cases of snake poisoning spread the suspicion that a new population of vipers was overrunning the French District of PACA. It was through the examination of the human body that it was possible to discover and locate this animal. The author addresses the circumstances of a discovery questioning our gaze over the natural world as well as the visibility of the forms living within it. In the case in point, is it the fauna or the gaze we turn upon it that has been remodeled ?En 1992, des cas singuliers d'envenimation firent suspecter la présence, en Région PACA, d'une population de vipères inconnue.
