Hamann and Rosenzweig on Language In the first section similarities and differences between Hamann's and Rosenzweig's understanding of language are shown, Hamann as a critic of the Enlightenment and Rosenzweig as a critic of idealism. Both reject reason as a primary source of knowledge in favor of language and senses. The second section « Myth and the Bible » shows how Hamann and Rosenzweig developed a theory of biblical language, accepting myth as being prior to biblical thinking. A third section includes Benjamin's and Scholem's similar concepts of language.
