The studies realized in Aquitaine and in the basin of Allier show a high correlation between paleoclimates and facies of fluviatile deposits : fine texture deposits reveal temperate, or fresh temperate , biostasical phases : coarse texture deposits reveal cold rhexistasical phases. The phases of vertical erosion take generaly place between two successive fluviatile sequences; they probably happen during interglacial episodes.
