Economic yield of fixed capital is the relation between gross annual profit and permanent fixed capital. It depends on the sharing of value added between wages and profit, and on the apparent capital productivity, that is of value added per franc of fixed capital. But this breaking up is not quite sufficient for the analysis of the evolution of this economic yield. In fact, firms may increase their selling prices with regard to prices of capital equipment used, and other things being equal, this is liable to increase profit rates.
