This study, is part of a more ample research on the evolution of a rural population in the Limousin, a region of Central France. All the school children (295 girls and 244 boys) of the canton of Chateauponsac were tested by the Pickford-Nicholson anomaloscope for the three tests of colour vision : red- green, blue-green and blue-yellow. A qualitative analysis on the frequencies of the deficiencies is completed by a quantitative analysis on the variability of normal colour vision (minor deficiencies included). No difference wase evidenced between the sexes in normal colour vision, there is therefore no evidence of a sex-linked heredity as is the case for the main deficiencies of the red-green axe.
