Structural geography reduces the diversity of empirical phenomena to the unity of a morphodynamic process which can shed light on the four following fundamental issues. As regards the basic relationship between Man and Nature, this approach offers an unprecedented interpretation of the universal prohibition which mediates the transformations of the natural environments into culturally invested spaces. Concerning regional differenciation, structural geography explicits the anthropological and political dimensions underlying economical valorizations and occupations of the human settlements.
