Les régions attractives de Suisse sous l'angle de l'implantation des habitants et de celle de l'emploi

THE REGIONS OF SWITZERLAND WHICH ATTRACT POPULATION. STUDY OF THE DISTRIBUTION OF POPULATION AND THAT OF EMPLOYMENT. The first objective of this study, which is based on an analysis of the density of population by communes, is to point out the increasing disparity among the regions, in terms of population, and to give precise information on its various aspects. The second part deals with the problem rising from a conflict of interest between residence and employment. As matters stand we can see that there is amarked lack of harmony between working Switzerland and residential Switzerland. The way things are progressing we can see that the latter is changing less quickly than the former. There are some reasons for this which are of a general nature but also there are some which are peculiar to Switzerland. The article finishes by an attempt, based on the given statistics, to define geography of the strong and weak regions of the country. He suggests that the hitherto accepted notions of distribution are open to question.Le premier objectif de cette étude, fondée sur l'analyse des densités de population par commune, est de mettre en évidence l'aggravation des disparités régionales, au plan démographique, et d'en préciser les modalités. La seconde partie porte sur une confrontation de l'emploi avec la résidence. Au plan statique, on constate une discordance sensible entre la Suisse du travail et la Suisse de l'habitant. Au plan dynamique, on remarque que celle-ci se modifie moins rapidement que celle-là. Il y a à ce phénomène des raisons d'ordre général mais également des motifs spécifiquement helvétiques. Un essai pour définir, à partir des données précédentes, une géographie des régions fortes et faibles du pays termine cet article. Il invite, semble-t-il, à s'interroger sur les articulations spatiales communément admises jusqu' alors.Piveteau Jean-Luc.
