Abstract WoDaaBe pastoralists in Niger are facing a crisis that threatens their very survival. This is the result of long-range changes that have been accelerated during the last twenty years by serious droughts, population growth, and declining agricultural and pastoral production. This paper focuses on a less well-known factor : the changing structures of livestock ownership and management.
