The 1968-1979 period has seen a noteworthy increase of the various urban equipments apt to set up the city of Lyons as a regional metropolis. The office buildings construction has registered a spectacular boom, reaching a total of one million square metres of new floorspace, from which 400 000 mž are located in the new business center of La Part-Dieu. But this growth has generated some difficulties in the adjustment with the progress of the tertiary activities, which was not so important. The presence of a large vacant offices stock has produced as, a consequence, a strong reduction of the office buildings projects.Bonneville Marc.
