Zhuang, a member of the Tai language family spoken in southwestern China, was traditionally written with Zhuang characters which resemble Chinese characters. The [ancient Zhuang character dictionary] published in 1989 listed and defined over 10,000 Zhuang characters and serves as the main reference for their study.
