THE DIVISION OF A TERRITORY, by JEAN RANGER Two main features distinguish the Right-Left balance in Paris : the marked dominance of the Right and the relative stability of the power relationship. Whatever the extent of the population upheavals over the last twenty years, it is apparent that they have not fundamentally changed the unequal spatial distribution of social groups, ways of life, behaviour and cultural traits.
