The study of wages' discrepancies and the testing of the assumption of the formation of labor prices, with a perfect competitive market, are leading to the same theoretical problem. It is necessary to check the existence of a tight relation between the level of wages and the characteristics of employed jobs. This assumption can be tested in two ways. As a first method, we can directly compare the wage which is payed with the characteristics of the jobs. As a second method, we can research the relations between the level of wages and some variables attached to the firms or industries, which are indépendant of the individual characteristics of the workers.
