Through a systemic approach, ethics applied to business is considered as a sort of regulating principle of collective activity, while being not identical with morals. Small and medium sized enterprises have to meet ethical requirements which emanate from society as a whole and which address large companies as well. But ethical practices of the SMEs are not necessarily the same. Differences between ethical thinking of SMEs and large companies seem to be minimal at the operational level of everyday management. Differences become more apparent at the organizational level.
