Supported by the diffèrent papers of this thematic issue on the paleoenvironments of the Middle East between 20 Kys and 6 Kys, the author attempts to demonstrate that the evolution was rather synchronous everywhere from Anatolia to Egypt and South Arabia : the Last Glacial Maximum on the whole dry and cold, precipitation and temperature increase and forest expansion during the Late Glacial, sudden coming-back of cold and dryness during the Younger Dryas, lastly Holocene Climatic Optimum up to 6/5 Kys. Every proxy data has to be taken into consideration but data value varies much from one area to another and we must try hard to know and date the evolutions and to determine the regional particularities.
