Summary : Cognitive status of markers « devant » and « derriere » in french children. In a spatial locative comprehension task with « devant » (front, in front) and « derriere » (back, behind), Pierart (1977) distinguished « pro-post » situation with a fronted object, from « ante-post » situation with a non-fronted object. During a child's development, the first situation should be based on topological relations, while the second situation should be based on projective relationships. This point of view is discussed with three experiments carried out on 4-to-6-year old children.
