Summary Two experiments are described which investigate the effect of CS preexposures upon one-way and two-way avoidance learning in rats. Experiment I confirms the deleterious effect of such preexposures on two-way avoidance learning. Experiment II shows that one-way avoidance learning is not delayed by CS preexposures.
