Abstract : How is the meaning of discourse constructed? How is its coherence being ensured by the means of natural language? African languages mobilize an amazing variety of elaborate techniques in order to ensure that everyday utterances, pieces of oral tradition and literary texts are properly related to their situations and jsocio-cultural settings, and their component parts to each other.
