Séquences trifonctionnelles indo-européennes dans l'Odyssée

• Describing Ulysses' return to Ithaca, Homer uses the Indo-European trifunctionality : Ulysses facing Iros and the Pretenders plays at prophesying, at wrestling, at being guest ; alone Ulysses receives from Penelope a garment, a weapon and foot-wears - i.e. the conventional signs of the investiture of the Indo-European king ; he retrieves his name, his bow and his wife. The discovery strengthens the holomologies between the Odyssey and other epic works, questions any interpretations of the poem and tells in favour of the importance of late traditions.• Quand Ulysse revient à Ithaque, Homère emploie des triades trifonctionnelles indoeuropéennes : Ulysse joue au prophète, au lutteur et au convive face à Iros et les Prétendants ; il reçoit seul de Pénélope un vêtement, une arme et des chaussures, objets propres à l'investiture royale indo-européenne ; il recouvre son nom, son arc et son épouse. La découverte de ces triades renforce les homologies de Y Odyssée avec d'autres épopées, met en cause certaines interprétations de Y Odyssée et remet en honneur des traditions tardives.Meulder Marcel.
