M. Wright —- African Women : Autobiographies, Life Stories and Biographies as Campaign Texts. Taking as examples a number of Central African women's biographies, the author attempts to show that these narratives in fact belong to what she calls 'campaign texts'. Focusing on fundamental elements of social life (marriage, etc.), these texts aim at reinterpreting these women's lives, showing them in a favourable light.
