As we, the Evangelical Theological Society, rediscover our evangelical heritage, it is important to remember that great evangelicals have changed the course of history. Men of God who were spiritually mature have been used by God to bring about great spiritual revivals. Webster defines revival, a stirring up of religious faith among those who have been indifferent, usually by dramatic, fervish preaching and meeting. It is the purpose of this paper to examine the Eighteenth Century Evangelical Revival in England and rediscover its leader, John Wesley. He was the founder of Methodism. We want to focus on his theology of evangelism
