To relieve the environmental issues of massive waste material, the integrated method of co-combustion of sewage sludge(SS) and coal gangue(CG) were proposed and systematically investigated, with emphasis on environmental influences. The SO_2 and NO_x,as well as the trace elements release behavior during mono-combustion and co-combustion of SS and CG were studied with regard to the effects of their chemistries and structures. Results show that co-combustion is beneficial for lowering SO_2 emission while partly increases NO emission. However,a synergic effect on both desulfurization and denitrification can be expected at ca.800 ℃.With respect of trace elements,SS revealed high heavy metal concentration, especially for Zn and Cu,while the concentrat...
