In the framework of the color-magnetic interaction, we systematically investigate the mass splittings of the QQ (Q) over bar(q) over bar tetraquark states and estimate their rough masses in this work. These systems include the explicitly exotic states cc (b) over bar(q) over bar and bb (c) over bar(q) over bar and the hidden exotic states cc (c) over bar(q) over bar, cb (b) over bar(q) over bar, bc (c) over bar(q) over bar, and bb (b) over bar(q) over bar. If a state around the estimated mass region can be observed, its nature as a genuine tetraquark is favored.
