This paper focuses on the consensus problem of multi-agent systems with double-integrator dynamics based on asynchronous periodic edge-event triggered control. The edge-event detections are performed at different times for different edges and the corresponding data-sampling events occur independently of each other. It is proved that the average consensus can be achieved by designing appropriate parameters under a connected communication topologies. Furthermore, the proposed protocol can effectively reduce the communication costs. A simulation example is also given to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical result. ? 2016 TCCT.EI8241-82462016-Augus
