Carbon fiber-reinforced polyetheretherketone (CFRPEEK) possesses biomechanical properties such as elastic modulus similar to human bones and is becoming a dominant alternative to replace the traditional metallic implants. The defective osseointegration and bacterial infection risk of CFRPEEK, however, impede its clinical adoption.
