The widespread application of constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment requires better engineering design, thus more accurate pollutant removal models are needed. This paper comparatively studys some typical models, such as regression models, first-order models, zero-order models, Monod-type models and complex dynamic compartmental models. Based on the analysis of the existing models, the generalized expression which could embrace the existing models as special cases is presented. This paper is significant to future studies on pollutant removal models for constructed wetlands.EI02149-1551
