Design pattern describes a problem which occurs once and again during the process of software development, and then describes the solution to that problem. Design pattern brings convenience to software reuse. In GIS software development, design pattern can be applied to improve the quality of software. In addition to that, design pattern also establishes a bridge between GIS research and software development.
