To realize the requirement of SASE FEL on electron beam, the design of photocathode RF gun was optimized and the emittance compensation techniques were considered in detail. Besides, a simulation of particle dynamics was carried out with the help of PARMELA. At last, a set of values of optimized parameters for the initialized electron beam to minimize its normalized transverse emittance was given.EI06727-7311
