The FDTD (finite difference time domain) method is used to numerically simulate the transient radiating and scattering characteristics of bow-tie antennas. On the basis of simulation results, a new-shape antenna with slots on the surface is designed. The numerical results show that the far-zone radiation field of the antenna is of small late-time vibration.EI0129-332
