Temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) and temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) have been used to characterize praseodymium promoted platinum/alumina catalysts. Strong evidence has been obtained that the effect of praseodymium oxide on the reduction characteristics and chemisorption properties of platinum/alumina can be changed by varying the method of preparation. The results obtained may provide an important source of information in the assessment of promoter functions.Chemistry, PhysicalSCI(E)EI7ARTICLE1167-1847
