PREPARATION AND CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE OF A NEW ERBIUM COMPLEX WITH GLUTAMIC-ACID - [ER2(GLU)2(NO3)2(H2O4] (NO3)2.5H2O

The title complex was synthesized in an aqueous solution of Er(NO3)3, and its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction. The complex was an infinite chain structure, built from dimeric units. Two erbium ions are connected by four bridging carboxyl groups from four glutamic acid molecules. In this case two types of carboxylic group bonding modes are represented, simple bridge carboxyl groups are near the NH2 and the other two carboxyl groups far from NH2 tridentate to the central ions.
