Bi-component monolayers in which polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene polyols or polypropylene glycols were used as one of the components and stearic acid as the other were studied at the air/water (40% NaNO//3) interface by means of compression isotherms. The experimental data were analyzed in terms of the molecular-areas additivity rule. The results suggest that the polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene polyol or polypropylene glycol moves out of the mixed monolayers when the monolayer is compresed, and area values at high surface pressures, when corrected for concentration, are very close to those for stearic acid alone.http://gateway.webofknowledge.com/gateway/Gateway.cgi?GWVersion=2&SrcApp=PARTNER_APP&SrcAuth=LinksAMR&KeyUT=WOS:A1987J854900007&...
