In this paper, the problems of controllability analysis and stabilization synthesis of discrete-time switched linear systems are addressed. The main contribution of this paper is to prove that a controllable switched linear discrete-time system is stabilizable via piecewise constant state feedback controller with periodically switching signal. Two different kinds of controller design are presented, one is based on pole assignment, the other is in linear matrix inequality(LMI) form. ? 2004 IEEE.EI
