The ICT market now in China is huge. Female consumers' growth rate is even faster than that of males in recent years. However, great challenges exist for women's occupations in ICT, as well as opportunities. In this paper, we first describe the current situation of Chinese women and ICT, both in application and from the occupational perspective, then analyze the relationship between them based on a theoretical framework and some hypotheses. Inspirational and promotional programs of this field in China are also introduced to discuss how to improve ICT with women. Copyright 2006 ACM.EI
