In this paper, we proposed a measurement-based admission control (MBAC) algorithm for adaptive real-time applications. In our algorithm, admission test is performed over successive time scale (STS) by an iterative manner. Analysis and simulation results show that STS algorithm obtains consistency and robustness by capturing the burstiness over multiple time scales exactly, and achieves high bandwidth utilization by adopting statistical multiplexing gain.EI
