General digital cameras have only low dynamic range and can't capture the high dynamic range scenes. To solve this problem, Debevec and Mitsunaga composed multiple differently exposed images of the same scene into one high dynamic range image [1] [2]. In this paper, we adopt Mitsunaga's polynomial model and refined that method, so it can calibrate the camera response function automatically and robustly. With this camera response function, we can take several images of the high dynamic range scene with different exposure settings and compose them into one high dynamic range image.
