Substituted 3H-indole modified beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD) was prepared by the reaction of 6-deoxy-6-[(2-aminoethyl)amino]-beta-CD (CDen) with 2-[(p-amino)phenyl]-3, 3-dimethyl-5-carboxyl-3H-indole (substituted 3H-indole) in the presence of dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC) and 1-hydroxybenzotriazole (HOBt).
