The interfacial tension of water/kerosene with added AP type polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block copolymers has been determined, as a function of concentration of copolymer at 298K and as a function of temperature at fixed content of copolymer. The result shows that the AP type polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block copolymers exhibit a high interfacial activity.The effects of EO content and PO distribution in the AP type copolymers have been investigated. At low concentrations a linear decrease of my as increasing of 1n(c + 1) was observed. The interfacial tension decreases with increasing temperature sharply.
