Until now, in the territory of surgical methods, excimer laser refractive surgeries have being the main stream for correcting the ametropic eyes. The main cause of iatrogenic corneal ectasia and keratoconus, one of the most severe complications of corneal refractive surgeries, is the destruction of corneal biomechanics. Keeping corneal biomechanical integrality is the basis for long term effectiveness, stableness, and safety of the corneal refractive surgeries. The reasonable indication and surgical method decision, perioperative medical cares play very important roles in preventing those severe complications.PubMed07577-94
