Analyzed the characteristics and related factors of recurrence of advanced endometrial carcinoma

The aim to this study was to describe of the characteristics and related factors of recurrence and metastasis in advanced endometrial carcinoma. Method: Sixty patients with advanced endometrial carcinoma were analyzed retrospectively. Results: 1. With a median follow-up of 57.2 ms, there were 20 cases of relapse (33.3%). The average time of relapse was 15.7 months. 2. Failure site: 9 cases located in pelvis. 8 cases in lung. 3 in other sites. 3. The relapse rate was 12.5% in stage IIIa, 1/3 in stage IIIb, 40.9% in stage IIIc and 63.6% in stage IV respectively. The relapse rate of patients with residual lesion (72.7%) was significant higher than that of without residual lesion (24.5%) (P<0.05). The high risk factors of relapse as followings: deep myometrial invasion (50.0%), para-uterine tissues invasion (58.3%), and grade 3 (55.0%). Conclusion: The most common sites of relapse are pelvis and lung. The average time of recurrence usually is less than 2 years. The high risk factors of relapse include advanced stage, deepen myometrial invasion, high grade, para-uterine tissues invasion, and residual lesion.OncologyObstetrics & GynecologyCPCI-S(ISTP)
