To explore the clinicopathological relationship between metabolic syndrome (MS) and colorectal cancer.The clinical data of 507 cases of colorectal cancer (colorectal cancer group) and 277 cases of nontumorous diseases (control group) treated from January 2002 to March 2007 were collected to set up the database. The patients with colorectal carcinoma were divided into two groups according to the presence of MS: MS group and non-MS group.
